Hurray!!! I have a working blog again! I know what your saying "Blogs are not that hard to come by, what's the big deal?" I wrote the code for this whole blog my self. This is not the first time I wrote my own blog. The last one was about 4 years ago, back when blogs where really starting to pick up. Now your saying something like: "WTF, why don't you use one of hundreds of people out there offering blogging services?". The answer is.... I did! I tried blogger for a few months and it seemed to be such a light weight blogging solution that did not have the power I needed. A wordpress blog is much better solution for me. However I knew I was going to build this framework and did not bother investing in something I would not end up using.
This is not your average blog though, it has no limits. The framework that it is running on was not designed specifically for blogs but a general purpose tool for all major website needs. Optimal Xms is what is running this blog. If everything goes right it will be running the majority of my sites. The benefits of an Optimal Xms will be clear in time. I will make the case for you to switch in future posts.
Although the Optimal Xms framework has been concept for over 2 years now, this is still very much a work in progress. A lot of things do not work at this point, such as the menu. There will also be a lot of standard blog features added very soon. Like an RSS feed and a .Net version of GeSHi and comments. As I start coming up with new features to the standard Optimal Xms package I will also be adding them. I will try my best to not make this the bastard child of new experimental technology even though it might get neglected occasionally.
